PERSAL Intro Face-to-Face

The PERSAL system is a standardized Human Resource and Payroll system for all the Central Government Departments, Provincial Administrations, SAPS, Education and Correctional Services. 

This course is aimed at officials who are newly appointed and/or have never worked on the PERSAL System. 

This fully integrated system between Personnel and Salary is a menu driven system.  It offers the user an opportunity for effective and efficient ease of online e-learning approach.  It encompasses a range of learning interventions, including this online course.  


e-Leave Administration

This blended e-Learning course is aimed at officials capturing Leave application forms.  

Prerequisites for this course:

  • Successful completion of the PERSAL Introduction course.
  • Successful completion of the PERSAL Introduction recap course on Moodle.
  • Successful completion of the MS TEAMS course on Moodle.
  • Access to A82COM2 to access the Training Database on BlueZone or a similar application.
  • Access to headphones and a microphone.
  • Student must be computer literate.
  • Make use of Chrome to access Moodle.

e-Personnel Administration 1

This course is the first part of the PERSONNEL ADMINISTRATION course and focuses on the appointment procedure of personnel.

The prerequisite for this course is the successful completion of the PERSAL Introduction course.  Prior to the attendance of this course the student need to revise the PERSAL introduction course by completing the e-Revision course.

The Personnel Administration course 1 is aimed at officials working with appointments of personnel. 


e-Personnel Administration 2

The Personnel Administration course was 2 weeks.  This course has been broken up into e-Personnel Administration 1 and e-Personnel Administration 2.

This course is the second part of the PERSONNEL ADMINISTRATION course and focuses on Modules 4 - 7.

Learners need to complete the e-Personnel Administration 1 before enrollment on e- Personnel Administration 2.

The Personnel Administration course 1 is aimed at officials working with appointments of personnel. 


e-Establishment Administration

Target Audience

This course is aimed at officials who will be responsible for the creation of the Establishment structure of a department and the administration and maintenance thereof.

Prerequisites for Attending the Course

Officials wishing to attend this course must fulfil the following criteria:

  • Be computer literate.
  • Have attended the PERSAL Introduction Course and passed it.

e-Salary Administration

Target Audience

This course is aimed at officials who will be responsible for the salary function in a department and the administration and maintenance thereof.

Prerequisites for Attending the Course

Officials wishing to attend this course must fulfil the following criteria:

  • Be computer literate.
  • Have attended the PERSAL Introduction Course and passed it.

KZN PERSAL introduction

MS TEAMS course

The purpose of this short course is to assist students with using MS TEAMS while attending blended learning.

Please complete this short course prior to attending the training events.
